Saturn Aura
The Saturn Aura, which shares its vehicle architecture and design language with the Opel/Vauxhall Vectra, yesterday was named the North American Car of the Year at the Detroit Auto Show, ahead of Toyota Camry and Honda Fit (Jazz in Europe). The award is presented annually by a jury of 49 prominent automotive journalists from throughout the United States and Canada.
Saturn unveiled the production version of the 2007 Vue Green Line Hybrid, the first GM vehicle powered by a new, more affordable hybrid system. The Vue Green Line delivers an estimated 20-percent improvement in fuel economy, depending on driving conditions. It is expected to deliver an EPA estimated 27 mpg in the city and the best highway mileage of any SUV at 32 mpg.
The Sky, introduced at the North American International Auto Show and slated for production in 2006, is the first vehicle to feature a new look that will influence Saturn’s entire future product lineup. The roadster will be followed by a new midsize sedan and a large crossover SUV as Saturn’s product portfolio doubles during the next 24 months.
